Campus Activities Board STAFF

Usually no more than ten people make up the CAB staff. Finally at the end of the year, as projects, papers and exams are all at their peak - we get a chance to slow down. We're helping run a concert by one of Houghton's own student bands and also helping decorate the dining hall for a midnight breakfast for the students during exams. It's been an eventful semester - with great people to work with!

THANKSGIVING DESSERT

Every year the flats and townhouses get together to celebrate Thanksgiving before break. It's a great time of laughter and tons of food - this year our block of townhouses was responsible for making dessert! What is better than chocolate peanut butter cookies for Thanksgiving dessert?! Pumpkin pie is on its way out..

MY INTERNSHIP

On Fridays, I am able to spend all day working with the Department of Social Services for the county. It's a great opportunity to learn about the surrounding area and gain experience in the social work field. Houghton has many opportunities like this and definitely encourage students to take them! I highly recommend it!

MY OWN LAPTOP

One great thing about coming to Houghton is the laptop program they provide. Everyone is provided with a laptop and it's great because you get a four year warranty and the people at the computer helpdesk are great to work with. If you ever need help with software, the Internet, websites, etc. the helpdesk is where to go!

FITNESS ROOM
Today, I had Weight Training class. It's a great opportunity to learn more about the equipment the gym offers you to use almost any time of the week. I am definitely going to miss the availability of this equipment once I graduate!
